Open Letter to WMA 2011 Volunteers:

On behalf of the Western Museums Association Board of Directors and membership I want to thank you for your work as a volunteer for the WMA 2011 Annual Meeting Pupukahi i Holomua “Working Together to Move Forward” in Hawai’i.

WMA’s Annual Meeting provides museum professionals an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices, network with colleagues, and learn more about museums in the Western region. Pupukahi i Holomua extended beyond boundaries to include national and international participants.

Your volunteerism at WMA 2011 was vital to the success of this year’s Annual Meeting, and in creating a meaningful experience for more than 650 museum professionals. We received many compliments from delegates during and after the conference about the courteous and helpful individuals at the registration desk, in the session rooms, and helping with events. Your fine work is greatly appreciated by us all – as such a positive attendee experience will have an impact on our conferences for many years to come.
