Job Description: 

Eastside Heritage Center (EHC) in Bellevue, WA seeks two Collections Interns who will be tasked with the rehousing phase of our Textile Rehousing Project. As Phase Two of our Textile Rehousing Project, the interns will take on the task of rolling our quilts and oversize textiles onto archival tubes for suspension from our textile hanging system. They will work primarily at our Totem Lake and McDowell House facilities under the supervision of the Collections Manager. Candidates will gain fundamental skills and knowledge of working in a Collections department for a small heritage organization.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Unpack and clean textiles, as necessary

• Photograph and update records for each textile in PastPerfect

• Rehouse textiles on rolled storage racking

• Tag textiles with hanging photo identification tag

• Other duties as required


Qualifications & Skills:

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

• Attention to detail • Highly organized and successful at meeting deadlines

• Able to work collaboratively on projects

• Basic photography skills

• Familiarity with Past Perfect museum software a plus


Dates & Hours:

• Three-month internship

• 5 to 10 hours/week with flexible scheduling Pay: $15/hour; up to 100 hours over 3 months
