Job Description: 

The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) seeks an experienced curator in historical, modern and contemporary fashion and textiles with track record of engaging exhibitions. Newly-endowed position at major museum in metro-Boston. Curator will play pivotal role in developing museum’s program in Fashion and Textiles, including developing exhibitions, programming, collections, original research.  RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop the museum’s first gallery dedicated to fashion, opening 2019. Strengthen PEM collection through strategic acquisitions, long-term loans, research, conservation initiatives.  Enhance international networks and partnerships with museums; secure patronage. REQUIRED: Should be active in fashion circles, current on developments in the field, adept at teasing out connections. MA, art history or cultural studies; specialty in fashion and textiles. Must be team-player, donor relationship-builder, enjoy innovative, approaches. Experience with historical and contemporary fashion and textiles preferred. International network highly desirable.
