The Programs Assistant helps with the coordination and execution of public programs including tours, school programs,events, and workshops. Other duties include volunteer staff management, booking tours, scheduling staff for tours and events, preparing the monthly calendar and staff newsletter, marketing efforts including social media and outreach, research and interpretation, and supervising the site on Saturdays.

Hold a BA in museum studies, education, history, or a similar interdisciplinary field from an accredited institution; have excellent writing, speaking, interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills; possess good written and verbal communication skills; hold a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
Experience in executing educational programs, working with volunteers, and museum interpretation and historical research. Spanish or Chinese fluency.
Speak, read, and write English fluently; climb and descend ladders and stairs up to 15 feet; lift and carry loads up to 20 pounds; drive an automobile.
Most work occurs in office conditions, with outdoor work for public programs and Saturday site supervision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
