The Security and Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all capacities of daily operation at the Burke Museum including, but not limited to, facility oversight and scheduling, maintenance, emergency procedures, custodial support, shipping and receiving, grounds keeping and transportation. This position will also perform and supervise preventative maintenance related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, security, safety, custodial and audio visual equipment.
Additionally, the Security and Facilities Manager provides leadership and management of all aspects of security functions at the Burke Museum. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive security, health and safety, emergency preparedness and fire prevention policies and programs to safeguard the Burke Museum’s staff, visitors, building and collections. Working alongside the Visitor Services Manager, the Security and Facilities Manager will develop a program and lead a team of a highly responsive and service oriented Visitor Services and Events hourly staff who safeguard the museum’s exhibits and collections while simultaneously creating a safe, pleasant and engaging experience for all visitors and patrons. This position will also consult and collaborate with all other departments to define security needs for collections, exhibits, events and programs.
