Position Description: The Social Impact Finance Intern will document and analyze organization-wide vendor and supplier relationships for diversity of ownership, geographic location, and other criteria important to the organization's social cohesion outcomes.


Educational Objective: Through this internship we will provide learning opportunities and hands-on experience in the areas of data research, extraction, organization, collection, manipulation, and analysis using financial systems, spreadsheets and databases, and publicly available information. The intern will gain additional knowledge related to the administration of a nonprofit museum , and have the opportunity to work with accounting, retail, technology, facilities, and operations staff.


Under the close supervision of the COO/CFO and Accounting Manager, the intern will learn about and gain direct experience in:


  • The wide variety of roles and skillsets it takes to make up a Finance department
  • An introduction to possible career paths in finance and accounting, research experience, and spreadsheet/database skills
  • Project management
  • Data analysis and data presentation



  • Prior experience or educational courses in Finance, Accounting, Auditing or Economics
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong command of written english language
  • Experience with Google Sheets and Drives and/or Microsoft Excel and Access
  • At least 18 years of age



Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to the following:
