Job Description: 

The Visitor Services Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent customer service to visitors of the Nordic Museum, ensuring a welcoming experience. The position manages front desk activities and all customer-facing transactions (including POS and information), and coordinates and supervises Visitor Services volunteers.  
Essential Job Functions
• Serve as primary ambassador to the Nordic Museum; welcome visitors, provide general orientation and information about exhibitions, programs, and events.  • Represent the Nordic Museum to the public and all stakeholders in a positive and professional manner. • Perform admissions desk duties from opening to closing: • Greet visitors and provide them with information. • Sell tickets, manage RSVP’s, and process “walk-up” transactions, including donations, memberships, etc. • Enter admissions and visitor data into CRM database. • Handle POS transactions. • Open and close POS, and reconcile daily tills; ensure accurate deposits to Finance Department. • Support Museum Store at transaction counter as required. • Answer phone, direct phone inquiries to the appropriate department. • Serve as receptionist and greeter for guests arriving for meetings or internal appointments. • Ensure tidy front desk with up-to-date materials and handouts. • Accept mail and packages, and direct to appropriate personnel. • Manage coat room. • Oversee other customer services: lost and found, wheelchair use, comment cards, etc. • Provide direct supervision of Visitor Services (Admissions and Museum Store) volunteers; liaise with Volunteer Coordinator to ensure qualified and appropriate volunteer staffing.  • Train, and schedule Visitor Services volunteers, and support volunteer experience. • Monitor admissions and other front-of-house areas to ensure safety of all Museum visitors; communicate issues promptly. • Follow all security and safety protocols. • Report monthly admissions data to the Operations Manager. • Communicate with the Operations Manager regarding incidents at the museum, or visitor feedback. • Other duties as assigned.

BA/Associate's degree (preferred) plus 2 years relevant experience
