An Open Letter to WMA 2013 Volunteers

WMA2013_AttendeeBadge-FINALOn behalf of the Western Museums Association (WMA) Board of Directors, staff, and members, I want to thank you for your work as a volunteer at the WMA 2013 Annual Meeting Drive On! Museums and the Future in Salt Lake City, Utah. WMA’s Annual Meeting provides museum professionals an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices, network with colleagues, and learn more about museums in the Western region as well as nationally – without you, the volunteers, this would not be possible. IMG_1935Your volunteerism at WMA 2013 was vital to the success of this year’s Annual Meeting, and in creating a meaningful experience for the over 460 museum professionals in attendance. Whether it was creating registration packets, checking in attendees at the registration desk, answering way-finding questions, recording the numbers of attendees in sessions, or the many other areas you assisted with, your work was exemplary. We received many compliments from delegates during and after the conference about the courteous and accommodating volunteers helping with all aspects of the 2013 Annual Meeting. Your fine work is greatly appreciated by us all, as a positive attendee experience will have an impact on WMA’s Annual Meetings for many years to come. Thank you for helping make the 2013 Annual Meeting a success! Sincerely yours, Redmond J. Barnett President Western Museums Association
