The Art Complex Museum (ACM), a family-founded and privately supported art museum in historic Duxbury, Massachusetts, seeks a passionate and engaged museum leader for its next Executive Director. With over 8,000 works of art and parklike grounds, a fully funded $1.5-million budget, and 10-person staff, this is an opportunity to build upon a treasured legacy, evaluate systems, strengthen exhibitions and programming, create deepen relationships, and provide greater national recognition.

The collection features American painting, American and European prints, Shaker furniture and objects, and Asian art, with major works in each area. Community programming provides a year-round array of studio classes and demonstrations, popular concert series, artists talks, and outdoor tea ceremonies. A strong volunteer program provides valuable assistance to the staff, and a small core of family Board members guides and supports leadership.

The next Executive Director will be a passionate and experienced museum leader, with proven skills in building community and raising visibility, a deep love of art and culture, genuine listening skills, and a collaborative management style. This is an important moment of transition for the Museum with the retirement of a longtime family director and requires a new leader with perspective and relevant experience.

Minimum of eight years of museum/nonprofit experience, advanced degree in art history, museum studies or related fields, or equivalent experience. Successful supervisory experience. $130,000 - $150,000 and benefit package.
