Director of Human Resources
Reports to the Deputy Director/Chief Financial Officer. Plans and directs the Museum’s overall organizational HR policies, objectives and initiatives. Responsible for recruitment, selection, benefits administration, performance management, separations, payroll, and employee relations. Ensures compliance with applicable labor laws, best practices, and the highest level of organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills
-Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, human resources. MBA, Masters degree in organizational psychology, Senior Human Resources Certification, SPHR, or equivalent preferred.
-Five years of exempt HR generalist experience.
-Excellent written, verbal, and customer relations skills and facility with contracts and budgets required. Excellent interpersonal skills/ability to manage delicate situations with diplomacy and tact required.
-Knowledge of non-profit and cultural institutions workforces and cultures desirable.
-Working knowledge of MS Office, computer payroll systems, PayCom a plus.
-Knowledge of California and Federal Wage & Hour laws.
