This Graphic Design intern will support the work of the graphic design team, including exhibition design, and support the Design Studio in a wide range of needs. Work will include graphic design, branding documentation, 3D exhibition design exposure, research, group critique, and organizing the office.
Through this internship, students will learn about working in a museum design office. They will learn systems and branding conventions; develop places and processes to share work in progress; and be exposed to designing for museums, accessibility, and durability.
Under the close supervision of 2D Exhibit Designer (Graphic Designer), the intern will learn about and gain direct experience in:
- Graphic design in Adobe Creative Cloud / Suite
- Breaking down existing brands into component parts and templates
- Processes for archiving, sharing, and critiquing work
- Designing for accessibility
- Preparing presentations
- General office support
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud / Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- At least 18 years of age
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to the following:
- General office environment
- Mock-up tools, such as knife blades and glue
- Paid hourly rate
