The Youth and Family Programs Supervisor provides engaging and inspiring informal science education opportunities that enhance participants’ experiences with Pacific Science Center through Youth & Family Programs offerings at Pacific Science Center and many offsite locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ~Ensure the smooth operations of Youth and Family programs, including Camps for Curious Minds, Birthdays, and Parents Night Out.
  • ~Assist Y&FP team in planning for the next season of programs by developing new program curricula and improving existing curricula
  • ~Collaborate with external partners to develop and maintain high-quality off-site camp programming
  • ~Lead and participate in camp operations, staff training and scheduling
  • ~Communicate with relevant internal departments, program partners, participants and parents
  • ~Coordinate off-site camp operations for Westside locations
  • ~Supervise Westside camp staff and weekend staff, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, scheduling, mentoring, and evaluation.
  • ~With the Y&FP leadership team, plan and implement ways to grow offerings that are innovative and sustainable.
  • ~Assist with creation of and ensure quality control of external communication materials including marketing materials, registration process, confirmation materials and daily camp letters. 
  • ~Coordinate Westside Weekend Programs, including scheduling, supply management, evaluation, curriculum, and recruitment, training and supervision of Weekend Educators
  • ~Assist Y&FP Manager with the development and maintenance of department budgets




  • ~Bachelor’s Degree in science, education or related field
  • ~Demonstrated staff supervision experience
  • ~Experience working with children grades K-12
  • ~WA State Driver’s License and minimum age of 21or willingness to obtain as well as good driving record including no moving violations in the past three years for insurability purposes
  • ~First aid/CPR training or willingness to obtain
  • ~WA State Food Handlers Permit or willingness to obtain
  • ~Ability to pass background check

  • ~Experience working as a camp counselor
