The Western Museums Association (WMA) is currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers for our 2023 Annual Meeting in Pasadena, California!
Every year, WMA's volunteers play an integral part in the success of the conference. Volunteers help to set a positive tone and foster meaningful experiences and interactions for our attendees.
Volunteering with WMA is a great way to meet and network with a variety of museum professionals from across the Western U.S and beyond!. Connecting with colleagues will expand your perspective on the museum field, introduce you to new cultural institutions and museum-related businesses, as well as open your mind to various potential careers and opportunitites that are available. As a volunter, you'll work directly with WMA staff to get a unique, behind-the-scenes look at what goes into running an Annual Meeting.
In exchange for hours worked, WMA volunteers can attend an equal amount of hours of non-ticketed Annual Meeting networking Events and learning Sessions. Volunteers must work for time periods equal to a minimum of 4 hours; this can be broken up into two–2 hour shifts or one–4 hour shift.
Additionally, throughout the Annual Meeting, WMA volunteers will be welcome to join attendees during the free Exhibit Hall lunches and receptions for a chance to network over some delicious food and beverages.
