Job Description

The National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) seeks a Chief Curator of Art to provide artistic vision, intellectual leadership, and strategic direction during an important period of institutional planning and growth. The Chief Curator is a senior member of the leadership team and will play a central role in shaping exhibitions, stewarding the permanent collection, mentoring the curatorial department, and strengthening the Museum’s national reputation.

Founded in 1987, NMWA is located on a dramatic site overlooking the National Elk Refuge, just minutes from Grand Teton National Park and within reach of Yellowstone. The Museum holds a permanent collection of more than 5,000 works spanning 2,500 BCE to the present and presents an active schedule of temporary and permanent collection exhibitions.

The salary range is $115,000–$135,000, commensurate with experience, plus benefits. Apply online HERE by February 16, 2026. Nominations welcome.
