Contemporary Arts Center, Interim Executive Director

The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) in Cincinnati seeks an experienced Interim Executive Director to guide the organization through a critical period of transition and strategic assessment. Founded in 1939, CAC is a nationally recognized, non-collecting contemporary art institution known for its ambitious exhibitions, public programs, and role as a laboratory for new ideas in contemporary art. Since 2003, CAC has been housed in its iconic downtown building designed by Zaha Hadid.

The Interim Executive Director will provide stable, day-to-day leadership; oversee operations, finance, and facilities; support staff; and work closely with the Board of Trustees as it evaluates long-term options for sustainability and impact. This is a six- to twelve-month appointment, ideal for a seasoned museum or nonprofit leader experienced in periods of change.

Compensation is approximately $175,000 on an annualized basis, prorated. A regular on-site presence in Cincinnati is expected; limited hybrid work may be considered.  Apply online HERE by February 11, 2026. Nominations welcome.
