Arizona State Museum's They Don't Love You Like I Love You: Indigenous Perspectives on Sovereignty consists of five exhibits curated by members of Native Nations in Arizona. Look at their process for developing exhibits highlighting contemporary voices, arts and creative interpretation of social justice solutions - including tribal sovereignty, water rights, and historic influencing their lives today. Discussion addresses how ASM initiated the process and stepped aside to allow curators' vision and voices come to life.

Municipal Museums have a unique relationship when working with Tribal consultation. As Museum professionals, we play the role of envoys from our Council and City Management and Tribal representatives are envoys for their Council and Tribal Management. As such, we are formally negotiating between two world views and two sovereign Nations. We will use recent examples of consultation regarding the role museums play, including name changes, the development of programming, exhibits, and more.

Leading in 360-degrees: Managing Up, Down, and Sideways

Join this group of museum professionals to engage in conversation about managing and leading in multiple directions with professionalism, humor, and grace. The session will start with a discussion between the panelists, and then move into small group conversations with all participants. It will conclude by reconvening and sharing what we heard, offering best practices for all.
