Newfields, Curator of European Art

Newfields, an innovative cultural institution in Indianapolis, seeks an accomplished and collaborative Curator of European Art to lead the care, interpretation, and strategic development of its exceptional collection of European works, including paintings by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet, and El Greco. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to institutional renewal and to reimagine how European art is presented in inclusive, accessible, and globally informed ways. The role includes gallery reinstallations, special exhibitions, research, acquisitions, and public engagement. The successful candidate will bring curatorial expertise, scholarly rigor, and a deep commitment to making art meaningful for diverse audiences. The position offers institutional support and the chance to collaborate with a talented team of conservators, educators, and exhibition designers. Salary range $90,000–$115,000 plus benefits. EA/EO.
