Over the last few weeks, the confluence of COVID-19 & Black Lives Matter has prompted museums of all types to think differently about their organizational structure and their critical role as civic institutions.

Now, museums are working diligently and are making radical internal shifts in order to not just survive the pandemic, but to thrive in a world that is now bringing a broader awareness to the history of systemic racism.

It's been months of quarantine for the majority of us and with summer just around the corner, the urge to do normal summertime activities is very REAL. But what summer outings are safe for you and your family?

Even if Mental Health Awareness Month (May) is coming to an end next week, it is absolutely crucial to maintain good mental health as we continue to move forward in our new lives shaped by the COVID-19 global pandemic.

This is certainly, not business as usual.

Today, with schools closed and daycares canceled, many parents are still trying to find that sweet balance between work, family, and personal self-care.

One silver lining of being stuck at home during this pandemic is the ability to get cozy with a good book. We all have more time to dig into those hardcovers getting dusty on our bookshelf, revisit an old favorite, or read something new and thought-provoking.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us had job security and a fairly optimistic perspective on the job market. But now, as all but essential businesses are still under lockdown, museum doors remain closed, and more furloughs or layoffs are expected, the job market will only continue to get more competitive.

In a time when the dark side seems especially powerful, many of us look to familiar stories of comfort, happiness, and hope. So, it only makes sense that Star Wars–a story of triumph over evil, heroes, and redemption­­–would make for such a perfect escape.
