WMA 2024: Take a Sneak Peek at This Year’s Events!

Over the course of four consecutive days at WMA’s 2024 Annual Meeting, headquartered at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, attendees will attend a fantastic lineup of engaging, informative sessions, and can participate in multifaceted learning opportunities including the perennially popular Poster Session, casual Roundtable Discussions, and hands-on Activity Stations.

Before the sessions commence, attendees can begin their time at WMA 2024 with collaborative Pre-Conference Workshops or enjoy going behind-the-scenes during Pre-Conference Tours at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, the Arizona History Museum, and a combined tour at the University of Arizona Museum of Art and the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block.

But every year, major highlights for many attendees are the fun, engaging Evening Events; and this year, attendees will be transported outside, into the sunny city where they will experience the unique history, art, and community found within some of Tucson’s most iconic cultural institutions.

Here’s a sneak peek of this year’s WMA 2024 Evening Events.

Wednesday September 25, 2024

On opening night, attendees will be warmly welcomed to the Ventana Canyon Resort followed by an evening at Tohono Chul.

Be welcomed to Tucson at Tohono Chul, a 49-acre Sonoran Desert Oasis, and a charming crossroads of nature, art, and culture. The vibrant offerings at Tohono Chul will awaken your senses. Stroll along winding paths past soaring Saguaros, through themed botanical gardens, and marvel at a chance encounter with a resident hummingbird. Enjoy a quiet retreat in the artfully designed relaxation spots sprinkled throughout the grounds. Various art and garden exhibits reveal the unique qualities of the Sonoran region and renew a deep appreciation for the treasures of the desert. Docents and volunteers will be on-hand to enhance the experience and guide attendees through this desert paradise.

$60 per ticket, includes beverages, hearty appetizers, and dessert.
