The Western Museums Association (WMA) warmly invites you to the 2024 Annual Meeting in Tucson, Arizona on September 25-28, produced in partnership with the Museum Association of Arizona and the Museum Trustee Association. With the theme of BALANCE, WMA 2024 will explore ideas of stability at both an individual and institutional level. Join us in Tucson to engage with fellow practitioners, participate in enlightening sessions, and delve into informal educational activities. Through multidisciplinary learning, WMA’s Annual Meetings further our professional discourse by providing a constructive environment for various perspectives to be shared and discussed.

Networking Events: Get ready to uncover some of Tucson’s cultural gems! Evening Events offer a fantastic way to make deeper connections with your peers while visiting some of Tucson’s most exciting museums. This year we have planned memorable evenings at the Sonoran Desert Oasis, Tohono Chul, an evening at the Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures and Presidio Museum & Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block. WMA Kid Zone: Traveling with kids to WMA’s 2024 Annual Meeting in Tucson? To increase accessibility for museum professionals with families, WMA is providing a space for children to feel welcome. Partnering with the Children’s Museum of Tucson and Oro Valley, WMA is providing a free-of-charge Kid Zone at the Annual Meeting. Located near the session rooms, the Kid Zone is a space to play or relax, filled with children’s exhibits from our partner, books, and toys for a range of ages. In addition, the conference location at the Ventana Canyon Resort includes a family-friendly nature trail and a variety of outdoor experiences. If an attendee is traveling with an additional caregiver, the caregiver will be given a “family badge” at no charge. Should you need additional support, the hotel partners with a local non-profit babysitting service that can be arranged at the Concierge Desk.
