Director of Education, Museum on Main

Pleasanton, CA

Full Time 40 hours /week Tuesday- Saturday

$21-$23 per hour

Reports to the Executive Director

The Director of Education oversees the direction, planning, implementation and evaluation of a wide array of general public and school educational programs, exhibitions and events, as well as overseeing the Museum’s volunteer program.  The position requires program design experience, managerial skills and the ability to establish model programs through interaction with all levels of educational institutions, community organizations and other public/private institutions.

 Ideal candidates will have a degree in museum studies with an emphasis on education, at least 3-5 years’ experience in developing and managing programs for educational or cultural institutions and proven managerial and communication skills.
