Job Description: 

San Bernardino County Museum is recruiting for a Museum Curator of Art & Exhibits*, who will develop, manage, and maintain the art collection and various exhibits. The Museum Curator of Art & Exhibits will lead and project manage the planning and designing of new temporary and semi-permanent exhibits across all museum disciplines, assist in creating educational material, and oversee and develop the Museum art collection including acquisitions and deaccessions as well as a collecting plan.

The San Bernardino County Museum is located in Redlands and contains exhibits and collections in cultural history and natural history. As part of the museum experience, there are public programs available for adults, families, students, and children. Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting and a medical exam.

Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment and must be maintained along with proof of liability insurance.

Availability: Incumbents will be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the Education AND Experience requirements.

A completed Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Fine Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or closely related field.

Two (2) years full-time equivalent experience developing exhibits and overseeing collections in an art center or museum. Experience must include the design and development of informal learning experiences for children and/or adults. Experience must be clearly described in your work history.
