Start Your Museum Career with State Parks!

Looking for the next step in your museum career? California State Parks are home to dozens of museums and historic sites from Hearst Castle to the State Indian Museum…and we are hiring!

Your journey with State Parks starts with an online self-assessment (exam), which reviews your qualifications. All applicants must take this self-assessment before they apply for a specific position. The self-assessments are open NOW through July 31, 2024. If you’d like a role as a preservation technician, registrar, or curatorial assistant, take the assessment for Museum Technician ($3,332-$4,714/month). If you’d like to be an entry-level or intermediate-level curator, take the Museum Curator I ($4,655-$5,757/month) or Museum Curator II ($5,340-$6,629/month) assessments.
