The Morris Museum seeks a President/CEO to refine and develop the exciting transformation underway to integrate exhibition, collection and performing arts programs inspired by its Guinness Collection of Mechanical Musical Instruments and Automata, one of the finest collections of its kind in the world. The Museum comprises 75,524-square-feet, 8 acres of grounds. The collection of 40,000 objects includes fine/decorative arts, ethnological, geological and zoological materials, and a growing collection of New Jersey artists. The 312-seat Bickford Theatre offers a diverse program of performances and presentations. The Museum is the State’s only Smithsonian Affiliate in New Jersey. Its newly opened Spark!Lab, is one of 10 Smithsonian Partner learning spaces in the United States. The annual budget is $2.1 million with 30 full/part-time staff and an endowment of $8 million. The President/CEO will develop the vision and programs for the Museum, establish financial stability for operational and capital needs, refine the collection, and meld audience experiences around the theme of art, sound and motion.
