This is the third year of this informative survey with over 600 international participants. The survey’s purpose is to advance discussions on the types of mobile experiences that are most successful based on a museums’ varying resources. Two main survey threads explore 1) insights to help inform decisions on whether an museum’s mobile experiences be in or out-of-gallery, be available for free or at additional cost, or be accessible via smart phone or a museum provided device, and 2) the relationship between an museum’s size, and the type, objectives, and challenges of the mobile experience they offer.
