The Western Museums Association (WMA) provides enrichment and forums for communication and interaction to museum professionals. The Wanda Chin Scholarship program helps fund participation and travel to the WMA 2014 Annual Meeting by professionals who might otherwise not be able to attend. Scholarships are available to members of the field at the student, incoming professional and mid-career professional levels. The Scholarship program is a vital component of our mission. We encourage applications from members of diverse communities, and subscribe to EEO/Affirmative Action principles.
Funds are awarded in the following three categories: (1) Student (does not need to be a member); (2) Incoming Professional (must be a member of WMA for at least one year [or become a member] and have been in the museum field for 1-5 years); (3) Mid-career professional (must be a member of WMA for at least one year and have been in the museum field for 5+ years). This is a competitive process, and awards are based primarily on financial need.
