Sharing the Love- Museums Celebrate Valentine's Day

For many museums, Valentine's Day can be used as a day to show their supporters some love. Here is a roundup of some ideas to help you plan your outreach.

For Donors:
Anytime is a great time to tell donors that you appreciate them. If you don't have a designer on staff, here is a pre-made kit that can get you started for print and online campaigns.

Some other resources include Pamela Grow's Donor Love Booklet and this article on learning the 5 Languages of Donor Love

For Members:
While you may already have special member appreciation events, here are some additional ideas from Exploratorium, which offers member special orientations and a host of interesting ideas from the for-profit realm. You can also get some inspriation from Bronx Zoo's Roach's Are Forever Campaign.

For Volunteers:

You can never say "thank you" enough to your museum volunteers. The Arizona History Museum said thank you in a song. Wild Apricot has a great resource for volunteer appreciation.  Or maybe your volunteers have their own love story to share, like these love birds from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum?

What ways are you celebrating supporters at your museum? How have they reacted?
