Nicole, I agree about Peal Harbor - although I didn't go until after the conference. The immediacy and firsthandedness of all the Pearl Harbor museums moved my understanding of events beyond the text book to the individual human experience. I wish I could have been a part of the Tour - I'm sure some much more would have been gained. Thanks for sharing!

The Pearl Harbor tour was an absolute life-changer for me, and confirmed my belief that museums can change perception. The first-hand accounts of the event, coupled with Aldrich-Pears dramatic exhibit design and the wonderful tour given by Daniel Martinez, created an experience that will be with me forever. Definitely the highlight of the conference for me.

Great idea! As I rode across the vast ocean towards the mainland I had lots of clear memories from the conference: from the vastness of the whale at the Bishop to the tiny bird feathers on the grand capes; to laughter and insights from new and familiar acquaintances; as well as those precious ah ha "that's a good strategy" moments that come from a good conference. Kudos to the WMA program team for a job well done.
